for siva: nooo!! it sounds so sad haha..there’s a new (and much nicer) camp just before u get to yours yes? my friend (andee) wrote in his blog and described it as

walking through a florist full of shelves upon shelves of big and beautiful, silky red roses and walking out with the bit of fungus growing in the dark cracks in the walls. And not just any ol’ bits of fungus. Dead, shrivelled up and haunted fungus that looks like its going to crumble into dust at any moment.

eeks! i’d very much prefer to sit at old bedok road and eat yummy ikan bakar!!

and *salutes* was reading andee’s post abt all the shit you guys had to go through during those 6 days and it was horrible!

ok since the hols are coming i have a place to suggest if you guys are looking for good food:
ala turka: 16 Bussorah Street (somewhere around bugis, near Sultan Mosque)
was there on yesterday and the food was just heavenly! it is better then Sofra it cost about the same led a truly decadent lifestyle yesterday (tho i still have another paper this thursday!) eating yummy food and shopping after that

it’s heaven-sent i tell you..i think the people around us must have thought we were crazy making orgasmic sounds of pleasure but it was just divine. it’s indescribable (if there is such a word!) you just have to try it yourself!

and their apple tea is just addictive! i love it so much i drank two cups of it! oh btw i didnt like the cold version very much..and the best thing is that it costs 1.50 only! 50cents cheaper than the cold one haha

the adana kebab wasnt served on a sword (Sofra does) but it tastes divine! looks like a HUGE hot dog but it sure doesnt taste like one! i wonder how long they marinate the meat cos you can really taste the herbs and spices yummy!

but the rice doesnt taste as nice as Sofra’s doesnt matter anyway since i hate rice and the other dishes more than made up for that flaw

speaking of comparing profs, my social pscyhology prof, Jens Förster, is blond, gay, open, bitchy and belongs to a band. Now beat that all of you. Hahahah. But I’m not joking though. He sets a research paper as a major criteria for our course and it’s basically an open paper, meaning you can write about any social problem in IUB and apply a social psych theory. So my paper will focus on the extent of heuristics influencing IUB guys who are attached, to cheat on their girlfriends. Muahaha. And he thinks it’s interesting and unique and I should go for it. I just hope I get a good grade.

Since I got started on profs, I shall just continue la huh. My lab prof is a woman, she’s new to the school, and she’s my advisor’s wife. She is so inexperienced in the classroom setting and giggles at rapid and regular intervals ie. when she’s nervous, when she’s earnest, when she is really amused. I can’t differentiate between the nuances anymore.

My gender prof is cool, I think she’s hot and appealing, she’s turkish. Very attractive face. She thinks I’m exotic and she’s excited her class is full of multi-racial girls. That’s right, no boys in a feminism class. How stereotypically pathetic. There was one guy before the add/drop course deadline, but he was gay and we didn’t like his snooty comments. So boot. Pity he’s a psych major and I have to tolerate him at least 3 times a week.

I have told you all about my boring, slow, russian, female math prof already.

My research methods prof is anal and his first name is Santa Claus’ with a K. Funnily enough, he rewarded me with a frying pan because i won some guessing-number thing he organised for the college.

my narrative prof is nice but he cant teach. how many of those have we come across all our educational lives, i wonder.

i am neutral and almost apathetic about my scientific work learning skills teacher. i heard she’s a great skater.

so all my profs and teachers know who i am, because i have been plaguing them with emails about how incompetent their teaching is but brilliant and clever they are in their fields….no, i wouldnt dare. not yet anyway. but i have been emailing nearly everyone. yes, in fact everyone. i have emailed every prof at least twice.

but no, nothing like the harris/ho/lofty student-teacher connection. not so far anyway. i have a feeling Rommel, this poetry/lit prof has the potential of being the only skilled teacher from IUB in my books. have to wait till next sem to forge such a connection. plus he loves Donne!! exciting.

nows the crunchtime for all smu people.. i suppose its the same for the nus and ntu people la huh. suddenly (ok not SO suddenly) all my projects are due.. i have to do presentations on amillion and one things.. and on top of that i have to deal with the annoyingeejit — yes that one who called me suggestive, bimbotic, act cute, and accused me of not thinking at all. (yes all gasp now)

but on the brighter side, all this is going to be over in approximately 20 days (i think?) and then we’re free!!!!

can’t wait for another gathering really.. the coffee session at SMU the last time was fantastic i think we should make it a weekly thing but you and i know that isnt possible…. all the same lets have one soon!

ok im back to preparing for my presentation in like an hour.. for the prof who flew to LA to catch the rolling stones and one other concert, attended 2 parties, took pictures with famous people, and flew back. i just met him on the way up and he told me so its really true arg.
